Marvel’s Latest Teases Suggest Ant-Man 3 Trailer Could Drop Very Soon

A series of Marvel Studios teases suggest that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s trailer will be dropping soon. Director Peyton Reed is returning to the MCU to close out Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne’s movie trilogy. While the pair get reinforcements with Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, and even Cassie Lang, Team Ant-Man is faced with a formidable foe in Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.

The villain’s variant, He Who Remains, was introduced at the end of Loki season 1, with his demise cracking open the multiverse. Now, however, Kang the Conqueror is set to make his official debut via Ant-Man 3. Specific plot details are still being kept tightly under wraps, but given its nearing release, Marvel Studios may be keen on kickstarting the marketing campaign for the threequel, especially with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s premiere now less than a month away.

Supporting this notion is the latest social media post from Ant-Man’s official Twitter page, which teases big things to come for the MCU sub-franchise. This is followed by Reed’s own tweet, which features a comic book panel that states Ant-Man’s return. Check out the respective tweets below:

Marvel Studios has actually already screened Ant-Man 3 footage for fans – it debuted at the D23 Expo 2022, but only as an event-exclusive trailer, which means it was never released online for everyone to see. Chances are that the first official marketing clip for the threequel will be the same one from the Disney convention, but perhaps a bit more polished in its VFX work. Based on the footage description, the trailer is a departure from the Ant-Man franchise’s usually lighthearted tone, which will be interesting to see. It even shows Scott Lang bloodied, making his conflict with Kang the Conqueror so much more exciting.

Marvel Studios’ is going bigger for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Instead of a standalone film, Kevin Feige previously dubbed it as a MCU team-up movie like Doctor Strange 2. While its predecessors were mostly removed from the franchise’s larger narratives, this movie will be integral to Marvel Studios’ exploration of the multiverse in the Multiverse Saga, which culminates with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026. The fact that Team Ant-Man is going up against the Saga’s new big-bad in Kang the Conqueror is indicative of its place in Feige and his team’s current storytelling plans. Beyond the upcoming trilogy-capper, this also suggests that Lang and the rest of his team will play important roles in the future of the MCU.
