According to The List, it was in the fall of 2002 in which things started to get serious between the two, after they were spotted together in public.

« They were always touching each other. » Another anonymous source said that they two were « gazing at each other all night long. [Kidman] was sitting on his lap, massaging his leg. They were eating off each other’s plates, » per People. And from here, things began to blossom into what would eventually turn into an engagement. »

Although the two were on great terms, the engagement never took place. It seems as though Kidman wasn’t ready to remarry again at that point in her life.

In a revealing interview alongside Vanity Fair, Nicole Kidman didn’t name names, but she did reveal that a certain engagement didn’t work, as the two sides just both won’t ready for that type of commitment.

Kidman would go on to admit that when it comes to relationships, she isn’t into flings, and wants the connection to be a deep one. That’s what she had with Kravtiz for a period of time.

Although the relationship between the two didn’t work, they managed to keep things on great terms with one another. In addition, it would be a memorable experience for Kidman, as she reunited with Zoë Kravitz years later, this time working alongside Lenny’s daughter on-screen.

Prior to working together, Zoë Kravitz and Nicole Kidman had history, dating back to Lenny’s days alongside Kidman. According to Zoë Kravitz, her connection with Kidman was a good one, and she recalls Kidman being great to her back then.

She revealed, “I hadn’t seen [Kidman] in a long time before Big Little Lies, but there was a point where we were all kind of living together. I was about 13, and she would take me to see movies; she was so nice to me.”

“[Kidman] can be quiet and shy, which is interesting because the beast of an actress that she is, is so loud and clear. She’s so good that sometimes it was distracting. After every take I wanted to just stop and say, ‘Wow.’”

Lenny himself would also chime in on the two working together and clearly, he had no problems and was very happy to see both sides reunite. Clearly, there was any ill will between the two.

“I thought it was very interesting that they ended up on the same show and Zoë hadn’t seen Nicole since she was younger,” he explained. “And so it was beautiful that they got to know each other as adults and make this great show together and that’s about it.”

Kravtiz would also briefly discuss why they didn’t work, and how they maintained a friendship instead.

“Some things just don’t work, but the wonderful thing is that we’re all friends,” he said. Great to see all sides on good terms.
