The Boys College Spinoff Gen V Wraps Filming With BTS Images

Yesterday, the official Twitter account for The Boys announced that principal photography had wrapped on Gen V. Keeping the franchise’s irreverent approach to social media intact, the caption announces that « Yea, we’re wrappin GEN V production. No, we ain’t tellin ya when it’s coming out yet. » Although there is no release date, they did share a set of four photos showing the cast hanging out, including one that showcases the front of the School of Crimefighting. Check out their post below:
One of the most intriguing photos of the bunch features a mural in the background. Included on the wall are The Seven supes Homelander (Antony Starr), The Deep (Chace Crawford), and Starlight (Erin Moriarty). It is currently unclear if this is a promotional poster for The Boys itself or genuinely part of the Gen V set design, showcasing the heroes that are meant to be the inspiration for the current crop of students. It also indicates when Gev V might take place in The Boys timeline – Homelander, Starlight, and The Deep are three of the most prominent Supes after the end of season 3.
Now that Gen V has wrapped production, it is a major step closer to being ready for streaming. Although the release date is still currently unknown, it seems entirely likely that it will air before The Boys season 4, which is still currently filming. This means it will probably air sometime between January and May 2023, though anything is possible at this point.
