The Walking Dead Season 11 Preview Sees Negan Ready For A Fight

A new The Walking Dead season 11 preview sees Negan preparing for a fight. The long-running AMC series is nearing its end as part 3 of the final season premieres this weekend. Developed by Frank Darabont, The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors struggling to live during a zombie apocalypse. After airing for over a decade, showrunner Angela Kang and principal director Greg Nicotero are ready to bring the final eight episodes to audiences.
While the show is coming to a close, a variety of The Walking Dead spin-offs have already been announced to continue the stories of beloved characters including Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in The Walking Dead: Dead City, and Daryl (Norman Reedus) in an untitled series. While a few fan-favorites are confirmed to make it out of the series alive, not everyone is cleared to have a happy ending, as season 11 drastically raised the stakes for Maggie, Daryl, Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). The season finale left viewers on a major cliffhanger when power-hungry Deputy Governor of The Commonwealth, Lance Hornsby, betrayed the group and forced them into hiding, though one character looks to continue their redemption to bring him down.
Just days ahead of its release, a new The Walking Dead season 11 preview has arrived from AMC. The video sees Daryl, Gabriel and Maggie reuniting with Negan and Annie following Hornsby’s jaw-dropping betrayal, where they try to come up with a plan to bring the antagonist down. Check out the new clip above.
The manipulative and power-hungry Hornsby has proven a force to be reckoned with, having betrayed Governor Pamela Milton’s (Laila Robins) trust in staging a coup against The Commonwealth. As The Walking Dead season 11 part 2 finale saw the fall of Alexandria, Hilltop, and Oceanside to Hornsby, the survivors’ situation seems dire. However, it appears the group has a leeway around Hornsby’s reign of terror: his ignorance. As Hornsby has never met Negan, he has the ability of tricking the villainous leader into defeat.
While The Walking Dead preview ends before the official plans are made, it’s clear that Negan wants to help, and might be sacrificing himself for the greater good of the group. This would complete his anti-hero arc nicely as Daryl is finally putting his trust in Negan, thus putting him on a path to redemption. On the other hand, he is confirmed to be in The Walking Dead: Dead City, so it seems possible he’s able to overpower Hornsby’s relentless troops. Whether he’s able to do so and save everyone else remains to be seen, though audiences won’t have to wait much longer to find out what happens next as The Walking Dead returns October 2 on AMC.
