Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 Trailer Shows First Look at New Locations

A Vikings: Valhalla season 3 trailer reveals a first look at its new locations. Created by Jeb Stuart, the sequel to Vikings premiered on Netflix last year, tracking the adventures of characters like Leif Erikson (Sam Corlett), Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson) and more. Set over a century after the events of its predecessor, the series explores increasing tensions in England and conflicts surrounding the Norse, building towards the eventual end of the Viking Age. Season 2 debuted in January, and as Vikings: Valhalla continues to receive praise, a lot of anticipation surrounds its future episodes.

Vikings: Valhalla season 2 introduced Jomsborg and established its status moving forward. Now, it looks like the next installment of the show will feature additional new settings.

A brief trailer for Vikings: Valhalla season 3, shared by Netflix, includes footage from filming and teases new journeys and locations when the show returns.

What To Expect From Vikings: Valhalla Season 3

The final episode of Vikings: Valhalla season 2 saw Olaf (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson) further his pursuit of Jomsborg. After confronting Freydís, the two eventually fought, and Olaf was killed. Jorundr (Stanislav Callas) also died, having sent Olaf’s men to an attack, and Svein (Charlie O’Connor) was reunited with his mother courtesy of Freydís as a way of achieving peace. Other storylines in the season finale included Godwin’s (David Oakes) plans against Queen Emma (Laura Berlin) and Leif and Harold’s (Leo Suter) arrival in Constantinople.

While there is no specific release date for Vikings: Valhalla season 3, the show is expected to return to Netflix sometime next year, as the new trailer suggests. The season 2 finale set up a promising future for Freydís and Jomsborg, and after Harold’s realization that Eleana (Sofya Lebedeva) was to marry, it will be interesting to see what happens with their relationship. When it comes to the cast, a majority of the Vikings: Valhalla characters are expected to be back, and they will be joined by the highly anticipated arrival of Erik the Red (Goran Visnjic). It is worth wondering how the character will be portrayed on Vikings: Valhalla following his role on the flagship series and if there will be any interactions between him and Leif.

As the footage indicates, there is a lot to look forward to in Vikings: Valhalla season 3, and the promise of new locations is especially exciting. In terms of other stories, it will be interesting to find out how Godwin’s plans develop, and if his son will end up as King of England. The season 2 finale set up a number of significant plot details, all of which will play out in Vikings: Valhalla season 3.
