A new video from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sees the African nation under attack. There are less than 2 weeks left before the follow-up of Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-nominated superhero flick hits the cinemas, marking the end to Marvel’s tumultuous Phase 4. Black Panther 2 was originally envisioned as a very different film by Coogler, but in wake of the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman – who played the titular King T’Challa – in 2020, the plans for the movie were completely changed. After Boseman’s passing, T’Challa’s role was not recast, and Black Panther 2 will honor the memory and legacy of its original hero.
Black Panther 2 will reunite the leaders of Wakanda – Letitia Wright’s Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Winston Duke’s M’Baku, and, Angela Bassett’s Ramonda – as they strategize to protect their futuristic African nation from new threats. Also factoring into the story is the undersea nation of Talokan, with its king, Namor (Tenoch Huerta) primed to play an important role. Per reports, Namor will display antagonism against Wakanda, prompting a new hero in the nation to assume the mantle from T’Challa as the new Black Panther and protect Wakanda from all invading forces.
Now DiscussingFilm has shared a new clip from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and it sees all hell breaking loose in the nation. In the video, Wakanda is hit by a serious flood, imperiling its people and infrastructure. Several Talokan soldiers are also waging attacks on the Wakandans, leaving it up to the group of heroes to protect the country and its people. Take a look at the video above.
Why Are The Talokans Attacking Wakanda
The new clip from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever doesn’t make it explicit if the flooding in Wakanda would be caused by the Talokan forces. Yet, there is no doubt that during the dire catastrophe, a serious conflict between the Wakandans and Talokans will ensue. As always, Shuri, Okoye, and M’Baku are on the frontline for defending Wakanda, and more than anything they are prioritizing protecting their own people rather than playing offense against the underwater invaders.
It has been suggested earlier that Namor and his Talokan army will take action against Wakanda as they would believe that T’Challa’s public revelation of the truth about Wakanda has made them vulnerable. Yet, interestingly, the new Black Panther 2 clip doesn’t see Namor fighting alongside his Talokan soldiers. This could presumably be because of some miscommunication between the Talokans and their feathered serpent god K’uk’ulkan, or it’s also possible that someone else – presumably the true villain of Black Panther 2 – would instigate the Talokans to wage war against Wakanda. While the full scope of this battle amid the flood will become clear only once Black Panther 2 hits the cinemas, it’s nevertheless exciting to see that the action, set pieces, and cinematography remain just as epic as in the original, with the visuals, in particular, more vivid and exhilarating than ever before.
